A crazy week...

Last week as Keri was at the doctor's with Jonah - again (he was diagnosed with bronchitis, but he is doing much better now), Michael had an accident while taking Jake outside. He badly separated his AC joint in his left shoulder. While out with Jake and Patrick, Michael had the retractable leash in his left hand, and was bending over to grab something from the ground. Jake took off to say hello to another dog, and because he had the retractable leash, he was in a full sprint by the time the leash stopped him. Michael's left arm pulled when Jake's leash stopped, and the force caused him to flip over, onto his face and shoulder. OUCH!

Michael and Keri spent a good 3 hours in the ER that night. Thankfully, Nancy & Joe were able to come over to help out and get the boys to bed. Michael went to see an orthopedic surgeon on Thursday morning, and has the option of getting it surgically repaired, or trying physical therapy first to see if that helps. The ligaments and tendons that hold the AC joint together are completely gone, so extensive therapy is a must. Michael is pretty frustrated with being injured, as we can all understand!

Other than that, we all went for a visit to Grand Ridge this past weekend. We got to see Gaylene, Terry, Beth, Uncle Gary, and Grandma & Grandpa Roper. Michael, Terry, and Patrick went to the Stag at the GR Fire Station on Friday night for dinner, but Patrick was disappointed that the fire trucks weren't there. However, his disappointment didn't stop him from eating 1/2 of Michael's dinner.

We are so thankful for our families and their willingness to help whenever we need them. Thank you all so much!
