May 12

It's been a little while since the last update, so let's see what there is to tell...

Patrick was reevaluated in speech. He has improved a lot, and almost everyone that knows him can tell a considerable difference. He still has a moderate deficiency, but now it is almost in the mild category. He loves to go, and he loves his teacher, so I think that helps a lot. Patrick also now knows all of his letters. This may not seem like a huge thing to most people, but to his parents, we're really proud and excited about it. He will start preschool next fall, and he'll be proud to show off his knowledge. This summer, Patrick will be taking golf lessons at Ironwood golf course. Hilarious that they offer lessons for 3-year-olds. He will also be doing a soccer & tee-ball class, plus we signed him up for running on Friday nights with other kids his age. He'll be a busy boy!

Jonah isn't walking yet, but he's not far from it. He loves to stand and cruise along the furniture. His favorite activity is finding mommy, then crawling up her leg to stand next to her. Our joke is that Mommy will be his prom date, because he just won't let go of her hand.

Keri & Michael are busy planning their trip to Mexico, and complaining about how they need to get in shape and lose a few more pounds. Well, if only we had a smidgen of self-control, then this really wouldn't be a problem. Michael went to the Cubs game this past Saturday with his mom, dad and sister. They were cold, but had fun watching the Cubs win. Keri had a nice Mother's Day; how could she not have a great Mother's Day when she has the best kids in the world. :-)

Love to you all.

May 2, 2008

Happy May to everyone, and Happy Birthday to Keri's mom - she celebrated her birthday yesterday!

We got to take the family to the IWU vs. ISU baseball game last week. It was a lot of fun, depsite the fact that it was a little chilly. IWU had an alumni get together, so we were able to enjoy brats and hotdogs before the game. Patrick had a great time crawling around on the bleachers and cheering when either team ran around the bases.

The bad part about the past couple of weeks is that both Jonah and Keri had strep throat. It's pretty rare for a child under the age of 2 to get strep, but it's obviously possible! So, they all got to stay home and recover a couple of days ago, and it seems that Jonah is finally starting to feel like himself.

Patrick has to make a drum for Kindermusik next week. So, we've been trying to figure out the best way to do that. So far, an oatmeal container is it - with a thick balloon covering the top. We'll see if that's what he ends up taking with him.

Have a good weekend. Only 19 days of school left for Keri. (She's just a little excited.)
